Design & Desktop Publishing (DTP)

The design and media engineering syllabus covers print, layout, and UI/UX digital product design:

Module 1: Design Fundamentals

Visual communication principles, structural elements of design, design thinking problem-solving models, color psychology harmonies, brand accessibility color guidelines, typography classification hierarchies, and web readability rules.

Module 2: Graphic Design Essentials

Photo retouching, color correction, advanced background removals, digital image manipulation, vector graphics design, corporate iconography development, and custom illustration processes using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

Module 3: Branding & Identity

Developing brand strategies, visual identity blueprints, corporate logo design specifications, and marketing collaterals creation (business cards, brochures, flyers, posters, and social media creative sets).

Module 4: Layout & Publication

Print layout frameworks for magazines, catalogs, newspapers, and corporate books. Teaches precise technical production preparation including bleed lines, margins setups, CMYK vs. RGB color spectrum conversions, and print-ready PDF specification assemblies using Adobe InDesign.

Module 5: UI/UX Design & Research

User-centered research methodologies, persona mapping, user journey charting, site map information architecture, navigation design, UI component library configuration, and digital accessibility compliance.

Module 6: Wireframing & Prototyping

Designing low-fidelity paper and high-fidelity clickable wireframes, multi-tier user flow paths, interactive micro-interaction prototypes, and user testing methodologies using Figma and Adobe XD.

Module 7: Mobile & Front-End Web Basics

Android Material Design and iOS Human Interface design guidelines, responsive mobile-first grid systems, and front-end development structures using HTML5 semantic tags, CSS3 responsive layouts, and design-to-code asset export workflows via VS Code.

Module 8: Motion Graphics & UI Transitions

UI animation principles, asset animations, landing states, loading tickers, brand intro/outro assets, and animated micro-interactions using Adobe After Effects.

Module 9: Capstone Deliverables Portfolio

Students must deliver production-ready design artifacts:

Digital UX Product Case Study

Comprehensive UX user research files, responsive business landing pages, e-commerce web interfaces, fintech/healthcare interactive mobile app mockups, and a developer handoff asset package.
